You will start your 355 Australia journey with registration and meeting the crew and other athletes at the race precinct on the Friday of race weekend. Check out the Urangan Pier, which is your swim finish on Saturday. The start of your 5km swim on Saturday will be at Scarness, leaving you a magic 5km point-to-point swim with some helpful tide assistance. Head off on our challenging bike course for 2 60km laps, starting off in closed road conditions for your safety. Day 2 sees you taking on three laps of the course to give you the 180km challenge in your 8-hour cutoff. On day 3, you will complete the 50km run within sight of the water along the shaded Esplanade foreshore path. Four laps of the course and an unforgettable finish await you with a bit of out-and-back on the iconic Pier before you savor that finish line feeling.
Day 1: Swim and Bike
The ULTRA355 triathlon begins with a 5km swim on Day 1 accompanied by an incredible tide assist! Follow it up with a 120km ride, providing you with ample time to return home and recuperate before taking on the challenges of Days 2 and 3. You’ll be surrounded by fellow athletes who share your passion and drive throughout both portions.
Day 2: Long-Distance Bike Ride
Day two is even more demanding, with a 180k bike ride that will truly test your limits. This portion of the event will push your endurance to new heights and leave you feeling accomplished and proud.
Day 3: Run to the Finish
On the final day of the ULTRA355 triathlon, you’ll embark on a scenic 50km run along the picturesque Hervey Bay esplanade path. Spectators will have numerous fantastic vantage points to cheer you on while indulging in a delightful coffee, breakfast, or even ice cream as you show your mettle. The 12km loop from Urangan to Pialba, shaded by trees, takes you all the way to the epic finish, where you can capture that well-deserved photo crossing the finish line, proudly holding the finish tape you’ve worked tirelessly for!
ULTRA355 is proud to collaborate with various partners that help make our triathlons unforgettable experiences. Covering the large distances around the course to keep everyone safe, our crew travels in unique Isuzu vehicles in a long-standing partnership with Isuzu Ute Australia. Post-race food and drinks are conveniently located at The Bayswater Bar & Grill, a short distance from the race precinct.
All the amazing public spaces we use are made available to us through our partnership with the Fraser Coast Regional Council. You will have access to Infinit Nutrition products in recovery, with the team at Infinit offering free nutrition consults to athletes racing to prepare their nutrition strategy for the race. Water safety is provided by the team from the Hervey Bay Surf Life Saving Club, with the local triathlon club supporting the event logistics through the Hervey Bay 100 triathlon team.
