ULTRA355 Canada Stage Information

Day 1

Swim – 5KM in a single loop course in the fresh waters of Skaha Lake.

Bike – 125 KM single loop of a major portion of the traditional Ironman Course from Okanagan Falls over the Richter Pass, Yellow Lake and returning to Okanagan Falls. This is a hilly course but starts with an easy 40 Km flat warm up from the lake to the base of Richter Pass. It finishes after a series of climbs with a fast downhill descent into the finish.

Day 2

Bike – 175 KM consists of 2 major loops after following the same start as the previous day to Osoyoos, the return brings you back to Oliver and a 1-loop course of Black Sage Road, the heart of the wine and vineyard country of the South Okanagan. While this is a very pretty course, the hills will present a challenge. After completing the 1 loop you return to Okanagan Falls to complete the second loop, the original Ultra520K Day 2 bike course up and over “The Wall”. This loop is very hilly as the name implies but finishes with the same fast downhill return to the finish as the Day 1 bike course. This portion of the course is also unbelievably beautiful in its own way as it takes you past some high-country lakes, then through the hilly desert country with some wide-open vistas. You will think you are in an old-style western movie.

Day 3

Run – 50 KM in and around Okanagan Falls. This is a 2 loop out and back of a 25 KM course that goes through vineyards and then cattle ranching country.  This is another hilly and pretty course. Water stations are approximately every 5 KM and access to your special needs’ bag at 16.0km turn; 25km precinct; 41.0km turn.
