COZUMEL TRIATHLON FAQs

What is the cutoff time for each day?

  • You will have 8-hours from the start time

What does Self-supported mean?

  • You will look after yourself during the race regarding hydration and nutrition, with help from your special needs bags and some basic aid stations from race organisers.

So do I need a crew?

  • No. There are no crews in ULTRA355, your supporters can be out there cheering on the course, but they can’t assist you with nutrition or hydration. This is considered outside assistance and could be penalised.

What is supplied at the aid stations?

  • Water and electrolytes will only be supplied at the aid stations, generally as a large cooler to refill your water bottle/hydration systems. Our crew manning the aid stations will help you with this.

How often can I access my special needs?

  • Your special needs bags will be accessible at the halfway mark through your ride on Day 1. On day 2, you will again see your special needs at 60 and then 120 as you complete the 3 laps. On day 3, you will have special needs available at approximately 12.5, 25, and 37.5km.

Is there a limit to what I can put in special needs?

  • You will need to use the bag supplied by us, just so we know we can fit everyone’s supplies in, but fill that bag with all your treats as much as you wish!

Can I have a pacer on the run?

  • No, we don’t allow pacers for any part of the race at ULTRA355.

Will I need any nutrition on the swim?

  • With the 5km swim, it’s only marginally longer than your usual Ironman swim. You are welcome to use a tow float, which often has storage compartments. None of the ULTRA355 races have accessible nutrition locations during the swim.
